How It Works
- Players set up the time, date and location of their match.
- Players may issue challenges to a player ranked one or two spots
above them in the ladder.
- Players must make every effort to make and accept proper challenges
both upward and downward.
- If a challenge cannot be agreed upon with a particular player, try
someone else.
- The challenger shall provide (preferably new) balls for the match.
- Scoring should be one conventional set with no-ad scoring, with a 12
point tie breaker used at 6 games all.
- If a match is interrupted for any reason, it may be continued to
completion at another time by agreement of both players. Or the player
leading the match at the point of interruption can be considered the
winner. A match is only valid if at least the leader has won four
games. Both players must agree to the settlement. If no settlement can
be made, the match must be completed or replayed at a later date --
otherwise no result can be posted.
After The Match
- The winner should contact the Ladder Administrator to enter the
match results on the Tennisforkids.org web site. The match results and
subsequent new rankings will be posted immediately.
- Otherwise the score must be reported to a tennisforkids instructor
at the next clinic.
- The Ladder Administrator will make every effort to post results from
score sheets on a timely basis.
- If the winner of a challenge match is the challenger that person
switches rankings with the player they beat. If the winner of the
match was ranked higher initially, then the rankings stay the same as
before the match.
