Lisa Lindvall - Director of Finance

Lisa is an Epidemiologist and works for the Department of Family and Community Medicine at UCSF. She grew up in San Luis Obispo, CA and went to college and graduate school on the East Coast. In 1997 she obtained a BA in Chemistry from Vassar College, and in 2000 she obtained an MS in Epidemiology from the Harvard School of Public Health. She enjoys working with children and is currently applying to medical school with the hope of becoming a Pediatrician.

Although Lisa took lessons during the summers as a child, she didn't begin playing competitive tennis until she was in high school. After spending hours on the court hitting the ball with her dad as a freshman, she became a member of the San Luis Obispo High School Girl's Varsity Tennis Team her sophomore year. In college, she played varsity tennis for Vassar. As a graduate student, she played World Team Tennis and was a member of the Harvard/Radcliffe Tennis Club.

Lisa wanted to give back the enjoyment and satisfaction she has received from playing tennis to kids in her community. "I think it's important for kids to get involved with sports or other activities while in school. It helps them become more disciplined, learn to cooperate with others, and teaches them that hard work will pay off. Playing tennis allows kids to learn these important life skills while having fun. It is also a way to establish long-lasting friendships. Working for TennisForKids.org has been extremely rewarding. It's so nice to see kids learning a sport that I have so many fond memories of playing when I was younger."

As Treasurer, Lisa is responsible for the organization's finances. She is also an instructor.
