Jason Chu - Director of Finance

Jason Chu is Director of Finance for Tennis for Kids.org. Jason was raised in the North Beach government housing development and in the Tenderloin District of San Francisco. He credits tennis for keeping him off the streets and out of trouble. His father taught him the game on the public courts of San Francisco, and he perfected his game in an alley on McAllister St. next to Hastings Law School.

The discipline, sportsmanship, and good health habits he learned helped him on the Lowell High School Tennis Team (a San Francisco Tennis powerhouse) and in life. Jason has taught tennis for a summer youth activities group, and based on that experience, intially volunteered as a TFK coach. Subsequently, TFK's Board of Directors asked him to use his business and entrepreneurial skills to help develop the organization.

Jason is a Value Creation deal executive for IBM's Global Business Services division, with a background in new ventures development for the healthcare and pharmaceutical industries. Jason is also an entreprenuer with over a decade of real estate, mortgage and advisory services experience in San Francisco. He is a graduate of UC Berkeley, and holds a Master's degree in Public Health from the Yale School of Medicine, and an Master's degree in Business from the Yale School of Management.
